Spear grass seed Spear grass Austrostipa spp. is a cool season perennial grass which stays green. It is found throughout south eastern Australia. Spear grass is a useful decorative plant with tall spiky seed heads. It can be used for small scale landscaping applications to fill in spaces, or it is attractive in broader plantings eg along roadside verges and goes well with other grasses - such as Weeping grass. Spear grass is heat tolerant and grows on low fertility soils which may be stony or gravelly. Austrostipa densiflora is also known as Foxtail Spear grass and is found in SA, Vic, NSW and Qld. It is a tufted perennial grass up to 1 metre tall. The flowerhead is an attractive dense compact panicle resembling a fluffy fox tail, hence its name. More info Product 1 to 5 of 5 Page: 1
